Kareena was born to Sindhi-speaking Babita and Punjabi-speaking Randhir Kapoor on21stSeptember 1980 in Bombay, India. She has an older sister, Karisma.
She born in a family that has several generations of actors, including paternal great-grandfather, Prithviraj Kapoor, her grandfather, Raj Kapoor, her paternal uncles, Shammi, Shashi, Rishi and Rajiv and her aunt, Neetu Singh, Kendall & Jennifer. Her debut film was in year 2000 with "Refugee", with the debut of Amitabh Bachchan's son Abhishek.She went on to appear in 31 other Hindi movies, and so far have four awards for her performance in "Refugee", "Chameli", "Dev" and "Omkara".
