Mrs. Fausat Abosede, a 72-year-old Nigerian woman who was arrested in September 2011 at a Brazilian airport over drug allegation has died in prison.
Late Fausat left Nigeria early 2011 to Brazil for a promised medical help by a Nigerian who later abandoned her in the country.
Mrs. Fausat decided to return home in September but was arrested at the Brazilian Airport when hard drugs were found in a bag someone gave her to help deliver in Nigeria.
House of Representatives Committee on the Diaspora, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa who met with Nigerians incarcerated in Brazil during an official visit to Brazil in March, broke the news of her death.
